DISOBEY
About Us Page

Commitment to bettering our communities; DisObey is our way of saying enough is enough. People in positions of power abuse and outright mock our intelligence, freedoms, and ability to change our circumstances. We’ve all heard ‘enough is enough,’ but what hope does a populace have for making a real difference, for blowing the winds of change? Our society can, when brought together, make a lasting impact. Believing in community action, in the good organizations can make, and how our actions can affect our lives for the better is how we intend to reach these goals. The method is simple: redirection of intolerance and ignorance towards a cause you can get behind; whether it starts with a message about hate or something almost satirical to read, we’re going to take from these abusers of power and reestablish equality with their very own words. Every donation goes toward a local or national charity that is deeply involved in their cause and operates as a true nonprofit should: without profiting the powerful.
Politicians shouldn’t be so easily bought by corporations seeking profit without care of our environment, nor should CEO’s be free to treat their employees and communities with poor standards. Disobey wants to change all of that. Leverage their social posts, using the energy they built for hate and channeling it towards affirmative action through charities that make a difference. On the ground level, we want to see change, and we’re willing to bet you do as well. So join us, by donation or word of mouth; we want to start the revolution. Our democracy has never been so important and our disobedience has never been so necessary.

You’re going through the news on your twitter feed and see something just moronic or hateful from a figure in power. Whether a CEO or a member of government, these individuals can say and do quite a lot with very little consequence. With the power of the internet, these people are able to reach from a massive platform, extending their audience beyond standard media outlets. Imagine however, if there was a way to act in that very moment and make a difference from that unintelligent post. What if there was a way to hold these people to higher standard, and leverage their social media posts against them. If this sounds rad to you, then it might be time to DisObey.
In a world of social platform dominance, the world is still adapting to such a powerful tool for knowledge and community. So when abusers of this tool threaten our ideals, our ethics, our very freedoms, we have to act. Disobey aims this action toward benefiting causes that improve our local environments, whether contributing toward communities in need, solving solutions to natural damage done, or providing education and knowledge to improve our society. Nonprofits that actually donate towards their cause and work towards their goal with transparency and honesty.
Being able to take action, even during a time when individual rights and democracy feel out of touch, is our main goal. We want to empower everyone to feel they not only have a choice, they have the means to follow through with their decisions. Whether it’s a donation or a call to action, DisObey wants to provide resources for a better community, a better country, a better world. Our democratic way of life has never been so important and our disobedience has never been so necessary.
Ending Tagline: Our democracy has never been so important and our disobedience has never been so necessary.
